- €100m volume placed within a few hours
- Close to 50% of the 2018 hybrid bond repurchased and extended
- €250m successfully place on the capital market in two months
Vienna, 15 June 2021. Following the successful placement of a €150m sustainability-linked bond (senior bond) in May 2021, UBM concluded the issue of its first deeply subordinated sustainability-linked bond (hybrid bond) for €100m. It represents a further milestone in the re-orientation of UBM’s financing to green. smart. and more.
Strong demand led to the closing of the books in only few hours. Roughly 50% of the 2018 hybrid bond were repurchased early and extended to 2026. The coupon was set at 5.50%. The issue proceeds will be used to realise new and existing projects, above all in the core markets of Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Poland. The sustainability-linked hybrid bond will be traded on the Vienna Stock Exchange after it is admitted for official trading.
“The run by international investors on our first sustainability-linked hybrid bond again demonstrates the capital market’s tremendous confidence in UBM and our new green. smart. and more. strategy”, explained Patric Thate, CFO of UBM Development AG.
HSBC Continental Europe and Raiffeisen Bank International AG were mandated as joint lead managers and joint bookrunners. In addition, HSBC Continental Europe served as the sole structuring advisers for the transaction.
